About Aaron Balderas

I have been drawing cartoons since I was a child but never took art serious. I joined the military in 2005 and never progressed to a point of taking art to the next level.

In August of 2012 I lost my first born child at birth. It was an absolute devastating moment in my life. I was lost and confused. Then at the beginning of September I decided I needed something to occupy my mind.

I picked up a pencil and a random piece of paper laying around. When I concentrated on the process of developing a detailed piece of artwork, I loved it. In the beginning it was rough but I did the best I could without any training. I was discouraged at times but I enjoyed it and it helped get my mind off of the tragedy that shook my life.

Eventually I was approached to draw a co-workers daughter and the response was overwhelming. At that moment my confidence soared to levels I thought were impossible.

I continue to strive to better my approach to art and love the challenge of new artwork.

I have started doing more commissioned work. I am always available. So if you have a request shoot me an e-mail.
